The structure sits in the dunes of one of the large beaches of Sjællands Odde, one hour drive north of Copenhagen. It is part of the municipal ambition to attract more tourists by providing better facilities and services in nature and recreational areas. The site made it natural to look for inspiration among objects and structures belonging to the sea and seafaring, such as beacons, light houses and driftwood.
